Closing Ceremony of Instructor Course, NAVAIDs/ILS, and ATC between KOICA and SSCA
Phnom Penh, June 9, 2017: Mr. Jeong Yun Gil, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office, attended and co-chaired the closing ceremony of Instructor Course, NAVAIDs/ILS, and Air Traffic Controller (ATC) at the Cambodian Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC) on June 9, 2017.
Addressing at the closing ceremony, Mr. Jeong Yun Gil said the human resource development is a key pillar of Korea bilateral relationship with Cambodia. Regarding training program, KOICA have collaborated with Cambodia on two fronts: first, to organize training courses for Cambodian government officials in Cambodia; and second, to organize relevant training programs for the officials in Korea, he added.
His Excellency Mao Havannall, Secretary of State of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), expressed his high appreciation and thanks to KOICA and the Korean experts and Cambodian instructors who are working hard to prepare program and syllabus for these training courses and make it happen as plan.
Speaking at the course’s closing ceremony, His Excellency Mao Havannall said that he was sure that the newly established of this CATC will become a best professional training institute in Cambodia with strong cooperation between Cambodia and Korea. “We have collaborated with KOICA and the full support of KAC experts to organize training courses for SSCA officials and also to organize relevant training programs,” he stressed.
According to Mr. Jeong Yun Gil, around 2,600 Cambodian government officials were invited to attend training courses and master’s degree program in the Republic of Korea under KOICA’s Capacity Building Program from 1994 until 2017.
