KOICA and MAFF organized consultative seminar on the project [Quality Improvement and Innovation of KCNSA]
Phnom Penh: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) organized a consultative seminar on master plan and capacity building for Kampong Cham National School of Agriculture (KCNSA) on January 18, 2018 at Intercontinental Hotel. The seminar was presided over by Mr. Jeong Yungil, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office and H.E. Sok Silo, Advisor to MAFF and Vice-chairman of Project Work Group with participation of Korean and Cambodian expert pool.
The seminar aims to gather inputs and recommendations from impressive mix of stakeholders, academia, professional, researcher and specialist, in the field of agriculture and education sector, to develop the master plan and textbooks for Kampong Cham National School of Agriculture as well as to identify their basic needs on facility and material. Expert pool who are representatives from specialist departments of MAFF, representative from agricultural institutions such as Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), Preak Leap National College of Agriculture, Kampong Cham National School of Agriculture, had been invited to provide inputs for textbooks and master plan development. In addition, Korean expert and specialist also had been invited to present in the pool to provide consultation and discussion with Cambodian experts to synchronize Korean’s experience into Cambodian concept and situation.
Mr. Jeong Yeongil, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office, emphasized via his remark that this project aims at enhancing the Capacity of Kampong Cham National School of Agriculture to improve the existing educational functions and set up the master plan for the school development. He added that this project will help to achieve capacity building of faculty and student at KCNSA and go even further contributing to cultivation of young Cambodian leaders in Agriculture and related business.
Remarkably, this seminar is organized under the scheme of The Project of Quality Improvement and Innovation of KCNSA in Cambodia. The project has two components such as master plan establishment and capacity building which comprised of textbooks development, invitation training program to Korea, computer lab establishment and lab equipment and teaching aids provision. The project is supported by grant aids of the Republic of Korea and it is implemented from 2016 to 2019.
